Did John Campea Leave Collider Again
Ok, I'm not going to talk about this on video or brand any sort of grand annunciation because I did that once already. But I did want to give those of you who follow me on social media the heads up that I have given my 2 weeks notice to Complex and that I'm leaving Collider Video. Since I took ii weeks vacation time when my friend died on Friday, that means you won't exist seeing me back on Collider (except for some stuff I pre-recorded and whatever guest or freelance stuff I practise with them in the futurity).
Hither's the thing, the expiry of my buddy this week affected me far more profoundly than I anticipated. His passing fabricated me realize 2 things:
one) Life is far too short to allow yourself to be unhappy
2) I take been unhappy at Collider for a while
Now, before anyone reads besides much into that last statement, I love the people at Complex and Collider. Equally a affair of fact, I was only texting back and forth with my (erstwhile) boss concluding night nearly how bad Transformers 5 is. Nosotros go along peachy. He'due south moving to Los Angeles and we're probably going to hang out a lot. The SVP of Circuitous was on the phone with me yesterday asking if there was any style I'd reconsider. They, and the team I've congenital over the years, are all amazing and I concord them all in high regard and respect them greatly. I'll probably all the same practise some random things with them in the hereafter.
Withal, the direction the operation was heading in, also equally some key decisions that were being made, I've disagreed with strongly and accept fabricated me very uncomfortable. Not to say that I'm right to disagree nor that they're wrong. Not at all. Correct or wrong doesn't come into it. But equally I told my (onetime) dominate, if I stayed I was just going to continue being frustrated and unhappy and maybe become an obstruction to what he wants to exercise with Collider. Neither of those are adept scenarios for anyone. I want to exist happy, and I want my dominate to succeed because he and all the folks at Collider are awesome.
Life is too curt to allow yourself to be unhappy.
It'south also of import to know that I'm not leaving for something else. I don't have anything lined upwardly yet. I have some continuing offers from places and I'chiliad sure I'll go others.
One thing I'k absolutely going to do regardless of whatever other jobs I accept in the future is to get my own YouTube aqueduct properly dorsum up and running. I realized a long time ago that I've never been happier than when I was just running my quondam site The Movie Blog. My own site. My own property. My ain thing. I love doing stuff on my own channel and I'yard absolutely going to be doing a lot more there moving forrad. I hope you'll join me.

So please, let's non brand a large bargain out of this. I specifically asked Collider Not to brand any sort of announcement. I want the focus at Collider Video to exist on the people who are withal there doing great stuff every mean solar day. Not on me leaving.
So you lot might be asking yourself "why tell us this then?". Well, because I couldn't think of a way to ask you guys to start tuning into my YouTube channel more than without telling you lot what was going on. Trust me, I wish I could have but disappeared and never mentioned it, but I didn't see whatsoever realistic style of doing that.
