Divi Warning Continue Targeting Switch is Equivalent to Break Did You Mean to Use Continue 2

Enric Alvarez

Hi, good morning Artbees support,

I have a website using Jupiter 6.4.1 and PHP 7.4.

For a few months, I had the following error: Warning: "continue" targeting switch is equivalent to "break". Did you mean to use "continue 2"? in /usr/home/in-placement100plus.com/web/wp-content/plugins/jupiter-donut/includes/helpers/minify/src/Minifier.php on line 227

Until now, clearing the theme cache the problem seemed to be fixed but now, the error is always visible and breaks the layout of the web.

The warning is being displayed although I have defined define('WP_DEBUG', false); define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false); in the wp_config.php

Could you please help me to fix this problem?

Thanks in advance for your help and support,

Amir Rather Support Team

Unfortunately, Jupiter Donut is not yet compatible with PHP 7.3 or above Our developers are aware of this issue and working on it and the functions that have a conflict with PHP 7.3 will soon change. However, for now, it is recommended to downgrade to PHP 7.2 or disable the warnings for PHP 7.3 by adding the following code in thewp-config.php file before the line "/* That's all, stop editing! Happy publishing. */":

            ini_set('display_errors','Off'); ini_set('error_reporting', E_ALL ); define('WP_DEBUG', false); define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false);

Thank you for understanding.

Hi Amir, good morning for me,

I've tried to add the code suggested by you in the wp-config.php but the warning was still being displayed so I had to downgrade to PHP 7.2 to fix the problem.

I can understand that the plugin is not yet compatible with PHP 7.4, but PHP 7.3 was released on december of 2018 so I think that is unacceptable that more than 1 year ago a payment theme as is Jupiter is not yet compatible with PHP 7.3.

PHP 7.2 will be out of support in a few months, so downgrade to PHP 7.2 is not a valid solution for me.

Could you please tell me an estimated date for make Jupiter compatible with PHP 7.3 or 7.4? Should I migrate to Jupiter X? Seems that Jupiter theme is not being taken into account after Jupiter X release and, in that case, I would like to know if I need to stop using Jupiter in my websites.

Thanks for your help and support,

Hello,

Sorry for a delay.

For now you have to downgrade PHP version to 7.1 or 7.2.

This issue will be fixed in the next update approximately in a week.

Thank you for understanding.

Regards.

Hi Tatyana / Artbees support,

Seven months later, every time that I try to update PHP to 7.3 or 7.4, the error is still being displayed.

I need to update the PHP version because the security support is about to expire, so, what I need to do in order to fix the problem?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Danish Iqbal

Hello Enric,

The issue should be fixed by now.

Could you please update the PHP and then share the URL on which the warning shows?

Also, are you using the updated version of the Jupiter Donut?

Regards.

Enric Alvarez

Hi Danish,

Thanks for your quick reply.

I've just updated everything (WordPress, plugins, Jupiter version and the required plugins.

I've also delete all the caches and I've tried to navigate in a private windows.

The error appears in the following pages: https://www.in-placement100plus.com/soluciones-productos/, https://www.in-placement100plus.com/en/solutions-products/

Thanks in advance for your help,

Hello Enric,

I see the warning and although the warning is the same but this time it is happening because of the ImageBox element.

The original warning for which you created this ticket is fixed actually.

I will create a bug report for this and if you want I can fix it for you right now. It just needs me to replace the word "continue" with "break". If that's okay, please share the WP Login details and the FTP details so that I can fix it.

Regards.

Hi again, Danish,

Thanks for your help, I've made the change in the file and the problem seems to be fixed.

It would be very appreciated that you can fix the problem in the plugin to avoid problems with future updates.

Thanks again for your help,

Danish Iqbal

Great 🙂 Yes, I have reported this as a bug and it will be fixed in future updates.

Just to be sure, this warning shows when using PHP 7.4? Right?

Regards.

Enric Alvarez

Yes, with PHP 7.4 and also 7.3

Have a nice weekend,

Danish Iqbal
